A blog post with a difference.

Today, we launch the first blog post of the series: IN DEPTH, TTM PARTNERS. The series includes the creatives that share our passion, branching out to photographers, MUA’s and stylists.

Starting with… Dean Hindmarch; photographer and videographer. Dean has been in the industry from a young age and has soared and excelled. Working for Sol Stock as well as his own photography business, Dean’s career has gone from strength to strength including recently travelling to Australia to shoot. Take a look at Dean’s life through his lens…

What do you enjoy most about being a photographer?

I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to do what I love for a living, I couldn’t possibly pinpoint one thing that I enjoy most about being a photographer!
I love meeting new people, travelling to interesting places and feel blessed to be working with some of the most talented people in the industry.

What is your career highlight to date?

The biggest highlight of my career to date has to be travelling to Australia for two months to shoot lifestyle content for Sol Stock.
I’m so grateful for all of the opportunities the Sol Stock team have given me in the past four years I’ve been working with them.

What would your dream job be?

My dream job? I’m working my dream job right now.

What advice would you give to an aspiring photographer wanting to start working in the industry?

Network, research, shoot and do a lot of work for free. Although it’s a huge necessity, having a fantastic portfolio is no good unless you have a large contact base and know how to market yourself.

Who is your inspiration for being in this industry?

My biggest inspiration and, in fact, the entire reason why I am where I am in my career right now is my Uncle, Graham Oliver.
He plucked me right out of college at 17 to start training as a photographic assistant. I’ve now been working with him for 5 years, as an assistant, second shooter and videographer at his company, Sol Stock. I owe my career to him, he has given me the drive to succeed that I never thought I had in me.
