Each month we ask one of our models to come into our office and help us give an insight into what it means to be a Tyne Tees Model.
This month we interviewed both a model and a booker!
Name: Kelly
Born: 1976
Started with Tyne Tees Models: 1996
Brands worked for: Barbour, Berghaus, Fenwicks, Haven Holiday Parks, Blacks Outdoor Clothing, Solstock, Get Smart Clothing.
What jobs do you enjoy modelling for? I always really enjoy doing Haven shoots as they’re really active and you get to work with kids and other models. I like to be kept busy all day and it’s good fun. I definitely enjoy doing in-store fashion shows for Fenwick too!
What is your career highlight to date? It would have to be modelling in America with Solstock, we were in Florida for 2 weeks. Also modelling in France with Solstock doing a ski shoot.
Can you give an example of when have you done a good job? Recently, working with Get Smart Clothing. I feel like the team worked really well together. We understood what the client wanted and the timescale that she needed to get it done in.
Do you find timescales tricky? Usually clients don’t want it to go on too long as they’re sticking to a budget, so you’re making sure you’ve done a good and thorough job as efficiently as possible.
On arrival I always like to know the clients name and who I’m going to be first meeting and introducing myself. It’s great to have time to chat with the client and for them to verbally brief me on the day because a detailed brief really helps you to understand what is required of you.
Are there any models in the industry that you love? I love the lady in the M&S shoots with the grey bob. I hope I can still model at that age, it would be brilliant!
