For this month’s special guest blogger we contacted photographer Michael Smalley to see if he would be interested in sharing some light on working with Tyne Tees Models.
Michael has been working alongside our new faces since the end of 2016 and we always love the work he produces!

How long have you been working alongside TTM?

I’ve been working directly with TTM for around two month now after shooting with a couple of their models earlier in the year.

How do you feel your booking process goes when requesting models for shoots?

I couldn’t be any more impressed with the whole booking process, Kelly has been amazing dealing with emails often within an hour, and if she is out of office there’s always somebody else available to respond to them. There’s been situations where models have become unavailable and we’ve been able to rearrange the shoot on another date and sometimes another model has been available to shoot instead. For me I couldn’t be more pleased with the communications I’ve had with Tyne Tees Models.

What makes a great model and do you feel TTM supply you with models of your standard?

To me, confidence is absolutely key. A model that is creative, that can offer something different or try something out of the ordinary that might not work. When a model lacks confidence it can show in the images. Being relaxed and having a good rapport with the photographer before or during the shoot also helps, but this just from my own perspective and the way I work with a model.
One of the main reasons I enjoy shooting with TTM models is that you’re guaranteed to produce some great images. I have mostly shot with new faces looking to build their portfolio, and they are always to a high standard regarding confidence and working to little to no direction.
