Once a month we invite one of our models to the office to let us know a little bit more about them and to help us give our clients a better insight to some of our most successful or up and coming talent.

Today’s Models Indepth features the brilliant Afnan.

What do you enjoy most about being a model?
The thing I enjoy most about being a model is the diversity of projects you get to work on. Every client is different and I enjoy the process of learning and working towards each individual vision. It’s akin to acting for me in that respect, just acting through images!

What is your career highlight to date?

My career highlight to date would have to be shooting for Airtel. It was an international campaign and I had a great time working with some amazing people.

Who have you worked with so far and what were you helping them to achieve?

I have worked with a host of clients spanning across the disciplines of catwalk, hair, fashion, commercial, stock, and more! Including, Airtel, Stagecoach, Nutmeg etc. Each time I have helped the client achieve their individual vision. I feel it’s very important to be aware of what you are collectively trying to accomplish and to be open minded and confident in your approach to realising that vision.

What would your dream job be?

My dream job would be to work with Diesel. I love the creative directions they take and the end result always comes out polished but with a raw edge which resonates with me on a creative level, as well as a consumer level.

What advice would you give to an aspiring model wanting to start working in the modelling industry?

The advice I would give to someone starting out would be to enjoy yourself and not take yourself too seriously! If you’re relaxed through the process you’ll have a great time and the shots will reflect that! 🙂

Who is your inspiration for being in this industry?

My inspiration for being in the industry is to help create! The evolution and growth of the industry is exponential and I love being able to realise little milestones in that evolutionary process. To be a part of an industry which gives the platform for individuality, creative freedom, and unbounded expression is what inspires me the most.

Have you been on any bookings where you felt the team worked particularly well together? How did it feel – tell us about it.

Sol Stock are a team which for me work very well together! It’s a family atmosphere and we get some great work done!

How do you prepare for a booking? What do you make sure you know before you arrive on a shoot? Physically and mentally?

I prepare for bookings by making sure I’m fully aware of what is required from me the client. If I have to make any physical preparations, I do say ahead of time. Mentally, I try to go into each booking with a positive attitude and a smile on my face! I believe the more relaxed you are and the more you enjoy the process, the better the end result!
