To celebrate National Apprenticeship week, we would like to introduce you to our apprentice Ashleigh.

Fresh out of high school, Ashleigh started at Tyne Tees Models in July 2017 and we feel like she’s never not been here. She has quickly learnt how to book models, organise shoots, accounts, social media and she is our queen of spreadsheets.

We asked Ashleigh a couple of questions about her role, find out what she said!

Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship?

I have never seen myself as a student, I did well with my grades but coming to the end of school I realised that education was not the path I wanted to take. Doing an apprenticeship has allowed me to learn transferable skills that would be applicable to many career paths. This opportunity fell on my doorstep, and as daunting as a model agency sounds, this has been the best decision I have ever made and working in such a fast paced, excitable environment makes everyday feel like my first.

What is your favourite thing about working at Tyne Tees Models?

My favourite thing about working at TTM are all of the opportunities that have been given to me. I have learnt so much in a small amount of time and I am part of a thriving industry at such a young age. I am so grateful for my position, it has been the making of an Ashleigh I didn’t even know existed!

What’s been your career highlight to date?

My career highlight to date is a tricky one, everyday feels like a highlight. One that stands out is the time we went team bonding at Christmas and we all had a Christmas dinner together, 10/10 for Lesley’s cooking by the way!
Who is your favourite colleague?

My favourite colleague is everyone, they are all family to me.

You answer the phone a lot, who is your favourite model to chat with?

I always love to speak to the one and only Axel Williamson, he makes me laugh every time! Axel if you’re reading this, pick up the phone and call for a chat.

Who makes the best cup of tea?

I would have to say Mickaela, she always measures the milk and leaves the teabag in just right. She is a hero on a bad day!

What do you see for your future career?

I certainly see myself continuing my journey at Tyne Tees Models, perhaps a booker or marketing director, who knows…watch this space.
