But first… what is a millennial?

Whilst the term has sparked some discussion, millennials can be defined as “The generation of babies born in the 1980’s to late 1990’s.”

Now that we know this, when looking back over 2016, it’s fair to say that it was known as the year of the millennials!

Millennials on the catwalk

From Kendall Jenner fronting the cover of Vogue’s September Issue to Bella Hadid making her debut as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Then to top it off Gigi Hadid being named Model of the Year 2016 at the British Fashion Awards, millennials have been at the forefront of the modelling industry recently.

More recently, we saw a flurry of fresh faces for Dolce and Gabbana’s AW17 Menswear show in Milan. The Italian Fashion House opened the show with Vine star Cameron Dallas walking to a live presentation from singer Austin Mahone.

Staying in tune with the selfie-savvy audience that tap into their style, D&G invited a range of social media starlets and youngsters to showcase their latest collection. It featured model and Vine Star Neels Visser, Youtuber Marcus Butler, Blogger Marcel Floruss, and socialite Presley Gerber — along with an equally famous front row!

Promoting the show with hashtags such as #DGMillennials and with their ‘Break the Internet Casting’, it’s no surprise that D&G have the fashion world talking.
