TTM Management is the North East’s largest and most established diverse model and talent agency. As the agency approaches almost 30 incredible years in business, let’s reflect back on the early days of TTM Management and its success over the years, with Founder and Managing Director, Lesley Middlemiss Lister.
“I was born in a quaint pit village in Northumberland, raised by hardworking parents who instilled in me strong values and the discernment between right and wrong. Growing up as the only girl in the family for over 50 years, I quickly learned to adapt, grow, and learn from my mistakes.
Upon leaving school, I qualified as a nursery nurse – a decision influenced by my Cancerian traits. At the age of 21 and 23, I experienced the joy of motherhood and welcomed my first two children into the world.
My career took a turn when I became a market trader. It was during this time that I honed my people and communication skills. The promotional work I did around the country, often as a team leader, planted the seed of entrepreneurship within me.
I was aware of the negative press surrounding the modelling industry and stories of unprofessional agencies. However, I was determined to change the narrative and establish a professional and respected agency. Thus, Tyne Tees Models was born in 1994 while I was pregnant with my third child.
The initial years were challenging, filled with long days in a small office, waiting for the phone to ring. But my determination and persistence paid off. After a few years, it became clear that the industry needed more diversity. This led us to expand our portfolio to include a variety of talent.
In 2018, we rebranded to TTM Management Ltd to reflect our growth and reach beyond just a model agency. We have had the privilege of working with esteemed brands like McDonalds, Cadbury, Tui, Barbour, Royal Caribbean, Warner Bros, Greggs, Centre Parcs, and Parkdean.
I am proud of my roots in the North East and have a deep love for its people. I passionately believe in bringing diverse and exciting campaigns to our Region.”
With almost 30 years in business, TTM Management celebrate continued success with their new office on the beautiful Quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne and fantastic new in-house studio, Studio Ninety Four.
